Healthy Asian Sesame Dressing Ingredients

You only need 8 basic ingredients for this sesame ginger dressing:

  1. Almond Butter.
  2. Soy Sauce. Or coconut aminos or liquid aminos. Use Tamari if you’re gluten-free.
  3. Lime Juice. (I use bottled.)
  4. Sesame Oil.
  5. Maple Syrup. You CAN use honey, but it will definitely change the flavor of the dressing.
  6. Ginger. Fresh or granulated! (By the way, here’s how to freeze fresh ginger.)
  7. Red Pepper Flakes. Just a bit, for a little kick. (Don’t worry, it doesn’t make it spicy.)
  8. Salt. Optional, of course.

How to Make 5 Minute Asian Salad Dressing

In less than 5 minutes, you have a delicious Asian salad dressing ready:

  1. Minutes 1-3: Gather your ingredients.
  2. Minute 4: Measure everything into your blender.
  3. Minute 5: Process for about 30 seconds, or until everything is smooth.

Ingredients

Scale

  • ¼ cup almond butter
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp lime juice
  • 2 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tsp granulated ginger (or grated, fresh ginger)
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/8 tsp salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients, including salt,** to a blender or food processor.
  2. Process for 30 seconds to one minute, until the sauce is smooth.
  3. Serve as desired.
  4. Makes about ¾ cup. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for 5-7 days.

Notes

** I tried this with salt and without and found that the naturally occurring salt in soy sauce was not enough to flavor this dressing. If you’re sensitive to salt, I recommend leaving out the added salt initially, tasting and then adding salt as desired.

    Wondering about subbing peanut butter for the almond butter….I would have to buy almond butter just for tis recipe as my family doesn’t like it. I always have peanut butter on hand but would buy the almond if it made a significant difference in flavor.
