"This is a super easy granola recipe. It isn't overly sweet and is a real crowd-pleaser. It also makes your house smell fabulous for hours after you bake it. I normally add about 2 Tbsp. wheat germ and a tsp. brewers yeast to my dry ingredients - for nutritional value."

  1. I just made some! It looks just like the pictures! This is an entry for the Kentucky State Fair in the Honey Cookery Division. Wish me luck!

  2. Made this today! It's a very simple recipe but oh so good! I didn't have the flaxseeds so I just used chia seeds. Yum!

  3. This recipe is absolutely perfect. I love making it. So easy. So delicious. So much healthier & tastier than store bought granola. I’ve also used maple syrup instead of honey. Doesn’t clump together with maple syrup but still tastes great.

  4. We loved it! AND, it's quick and simple. We can't wait to try it with apple.

  5. I'm gonna try this tomorrow. I've been looking for something like this, so I can make my own cereal. If I could just make a health suggestion. Flaxseed- 75% of the health benefits contained in flaxseeds oxidizes within 15 minutes after you grind it. And is lost. Eating them whole, they pass right on through. So it is always good to grind it and eat within 15 minutes. If you'd like to add something similar (health wise) to the granola that will contain it until eaten. You can use chia seeds. Another really good superfood. Thx for the recipe. Looking forward to trying some.

Tweaks

  1. Added lemon juice to honey and coconut oil, skipped the vanilla, added cranberries...turned out great

    youngtyn

  2. Used raisens instead of nuts (just a personal preference, and less fat). I used applesauce instead of oil (same reason). I used pure maple instead of honey and/or brown sugar (prefer maple flavor over honey flavor, no other reason). And I added protein powder to the dry ingredients. Lastly, I baked it for about twice as long -- stiring every 10 minutes -- because I like it Extra crunchy. I am very pleased with the outcome. :-)

  3. I added 1 1/2 tsp of coconut extract and it turned out fantastic

    Lisa B.

  4. Instead of honey I used Vermont pure maple syrup, added a egg white, used all other ingredients, omg this is amazing granola. I love it on my salad, yogurt and a bedtime snack

  5. Nothing this time but next time I am going to add some dried cherries and some coconut.
